Customizing Your Mentoring Toolkit is designed to provide mentors with a range of evidence-based tools and practical skills to consider in mentoring. This concise (one-to-two hour) asynchronous Canvas course is designed to help you develop tangible documents to support your mentoring through a series of case studies, expert interviews, and activities.

The program guides you to develop a tailored, thoughtful mentoring plan for your research group to support recruiting, daily working interactions and protocols, and include where helpful in funding proposals. Working through the prompts in the program can help improve communication for your group, and create transparency around expectations for not only what you expect of your mentees, but also what your mentees can expect from you.

Leadership program developed by NCPRE and delivered annually to campus leaders and potential leaders; virtually all sitting department chairs and deans at Nanyang Technological University have matriculated through this program. 

Annual conference running for 9 years where challenged units leave with actionable strategies for the problems they face.

Resources

The Leadership Collection was originally funded by NTU as part of the NLA, to create a repository of resources that is made openly available. There are hundreds of videos, documents, and other resources about academic leadership. Later additions were self-funded.

NSF-funded project centered around deliberative lab conversations, an evidence-based communication method for labs to approach issues such as authorship, ethics, and data management. We are developing and disseminating an easy-to-use practical toolkit including multimedia resources. 

A curated selection of freely available materials to support the responsible conduct of research education and practices. 


Evaluation and Assessment

A purpose-built tool for administration of surveys and sophisticated interface for interaction with and interrogation of results. Includes a benchmarking database that allows comparisons of organizations and units within them to each other and to comparable units in peer institutions.
