BrandE Faupell (1954 - 2024)

In loving memory of BrandE Faupell (1954 - 2024), a cherished member of NCPRE whose profound impact reverberates through all of the work we do. BrandE devoted her passion and expertise to nurturing the next generation of leaders, leaving an indelible mark on the numerous PAL leadership development cohorts she guided with wisdom and compassion.

BrandE played an instrumental role in crafting and refining our leadership programs, including our collaboration with Nanyang Technological University to create mentoring and leadership development programs, our collaboration with Howard Hughes Medical Institute to promote healthy labs, and many others that continue to shape the future of our organization. BrandE exemplified the essence of mentorship and coaching, generously sharing her knowledge and insights to empower colleagues and team members.

Her legacy of leadership, kindness, and unwavering commitment to excellence will forever inspire us.

BrandE served as the Executive Director of Human Resources at Utah State University for ten years. Before that, she was the Co-Director of the Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Office at USU. In 2013, she co-founded the Colloquium on Abrasive Conduct in Higher Education (CACHE), a national organization of university Ombuds Officers, Legal Counsel, Title IX Coordinators, Provosts, HR Directors, AAEO Directors, and university researchers studying abrasive and corrosive behavior in higher education.  Prior to her retirement, BrandE was active in CUPA-HR (the national organization for HR in higher education), at both the state and regional levels.  She gave frequent talks at both CUPA meetings as well as Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) events, primarily on Change Management, Dealing with Difficult People, and Situations in Higher Education.
