Ben King was a postdoctoral research associate at the National Center for Principled Leadership & Research Ethics (NCPRE) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research explored non-pecuniary incentives as independent motivators for entering entrepreneurship, employee mobility, and individual and firm-level investments into human capital development.  His recent published work focuses how gender bias can manifest in managers’ willingness to compete on behalf of a direct report and how this problem affects wage and achievement gaps in the workplace.  Ben holds a PhD in Strategy and Entrepreneurship from the University of Maryland and received an MBA and BA degree from Brigham Young University.
